David Lammy has said going to a football match with Sir Keir Starmer was a “terrible evening” because the Labour leader’s team was beaten and he was “not a happy man”.

“You should not take your boss to a football game when your boss’s team is trashed,” the shadow foreign secretary told Nick Robinson on his Political Thinking programme.
