A Liverpool FC fan’s family has issued an appeal to help find him after he went missing following the Champions League final.

Joseph Murphy, 35, was last seen at around 7pm yesterday at the Liverpool FC fan park in Paris.

He was in the French capital with a friend and his brother-in-law ahead of Liverpool’s match against Real Madrid.

The game was overshadowed by chaotic scenes outside the stadium as French police sprayed Liverpool fans with tear gas.

Joseph’s wife Danielle Murphy told the Liverpool Echo that he is a “genuine, hardworking dad to two little boys” and desperately wants her husband to make contact.

Joseph’s brother-in-law tweeted this morning that everyone was “starting to get worried now” especially following the disturbing scenes outside the Stade de France last night.

The tweet said: “Any Reds still in Paris…haven’t seen my brother-in-law since seven last night. Starting to get worried now with how much of a s**thole this place is and how bad the police are.”

The entire event at the Stade de France was marred by horrendous scenes before and after kick-off, which eventually saw the Champions League final delayed by over half an hour as fans clashed with police outside the stadium.

Reds supporters faced pepper spray, which was used by police as crowds attempted to get into the stadium before the original kick-off time.

Some supporters have been accused of making their way into the Stade de France without tickets, whilst there were also videos of fans climbing over the gates.

However others have claimed it was predominantly locals trying to force their way into the stadium.

UEFA has blamed the issues on “fake tickets” but Liverpool star Andy Robertson responded to those claims after a friend of his was denied entry for supposedly having a fake ticket.

Gary Lineker, who was in attendance of the game, was caught up in the chaos as he called out UEFA for blaming the delay on the fans.

He tweeted: “Finding it impossible to get in the ground. This appears to be very dangerous. Absolute carnage.
